Description: This program works with parents of youth and children to help build on a family’s strengths and teach skills for maintaining a safe, stable home. A Trained Family Consultant works with the parents or caregivers in their own home, helping them improve their parenting skills, creating a nurturing environment, managing child behavior problems, connecting them with community resources and learning how to solve problems on their own including working with their child’s school and educational success.

Description: This program connects families and independent youth to resources that enable them to create a safe, stable home environment. After specific needs are identified Boys Town helps to determine the best resources to help meet their needs. The Boys Town consultant then helps the family or youth access those resources while providing support and guidance. Resources include medical care, housing, mental health and behavioral health counseling, nutrition and food support, recreational and afterschool programs, child care and others. Consultants work with families and youth in their home, at school and in the community.
