Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment & Training
Building Solutions for SNAP E&T
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment & Training (SNAP E&T) is a program of the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). SNAP E&T is both a funding source that can be used to build an agency’s capacity to effectively meet the training and employment needs of SNAP recipients, and a program that provides SNAP recipients with a comprehensive set of employment and training services. The overarching goal of SNAP E&T is to provide services to SNAP recipients that make them more likely to find long-term, family supporting employment.
RI LISC partners with qualified workforce development agencies that are able to offer a range of comprehensive programs and vocational and adult education training opportunities to eligible SNAP recipients through SNAP E&T.
