Providence, RI, April 28, 2021 — The Center for Innovation & System Improvement (CISI) of the FEDCAP Group will deliver RI Road to Work, a job networking opportunity designed for SNAP Employment and Training (SNAP E&T) participants. The job fair will be the final step in a program that focused on interview preparation of SNAP E&T candidates and connect them with employers that fit training and job goals of each candidate. Hiring managers from sectors covering Medical and Nursing, Construction, Customer Service, Call Centers, Banking, and others, will interview participants and resulting in employment. The RI Road to Work program will provide a unique opportunity for employers to expand on their Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and meet trained candidates directly from the SNAP Employment & Training program.

RI Road to Work is a person-centered career-networking event that will focus on preparing and matching SNAP E&T candidates to interview with employers aligned with their area of training and job goal. This event will focus on interview preparation, practice and exposure to local employers who have immediate hiring needs as well as those who are scouting for future needs. RI Road to Work mirrors CISI’s Connect2Careers events where individuals with barriers to employment engage in several rounds of informational interviews or actual interviews depending on the hiring needs of the employer.

The Center for Innovation & System Improvement (CISI) will provide two virtual job networking events for SNAP Employment and Training (SNAP E&T) participants who have completed or are about to complete their training. Each SNAP E&T participant will experience three interview sessions with employers based on their training and job interests; and one additional interview session we choose for the candidate based on the skills listed on their resume.

In preparation for RI Road to Work, each candidate is prepared with a resume, 30-second elevator pitch, interview questions, interview etiquette, as well as interview practice.
